Club Africain Opens Season With Shutout Victory

TUNIS, Tunisia (Interstat) — Club Africain began its domestic campaign with a 2-0 victory over Stade Gabesien in a Tunisian Ligue 1 match Sunday at Stade Hammadi Agrebi.

The hosts secured the win with goals at the end of each half. Firas Chaouat opened the scoring in the final moments of the first half, finding the net in the 45th minute. Defender Bilel Aït Malek sealed the result deep into second-half stoppage time, scoring with a header in the 90th minute.

The victory gives Club Africain a winning start to the league season, while Stade Gabesien begins with a defeat. The match outcome was more decisive than pregame projections, which heavily favored Club Africain but predicted a narrower margin of victory.
