SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras (Interstat) — Real Espana opened its Liga Nacional campaign with a 2-0 victory over Platense on Wednesday at Estadio Francisco Morazán.

David Sayago and Darixon Vuelto scored two minutes apart early in the match, securing the win in the 12th and 14th minutes, respectively. The quick strikes propelled the home side to a decisive result.

The outcome aligned with statistical projections that heavily favored Real Espana. A pre-match simulator had predicted a 2-1 result, while an ELO rating system gave the hosts an 80.7 percent probability to win.

With the loss, Platense begins its season 0-1. Real Espana starts 1-0 in domestic play.
