LA CEIBA, Honduras (Interstat) — Victoria and Juticalpa played to a 2-2 draw Wednesday in a Liga Nacional match at Estadio Municipal Ceibeño Nilmo Edwards.

The game saw a frenetic two-minute span just after halftime. Juticalpa’s Kelvin Matute opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, only for Victoria’s Avner Portillo to equalize a minute later. Bryan Chavez then put the visiting side back ahead in the 65th minute.

The result leaves both teams in the lower half of the table. Juticalpa’s season record in the competition is now 10 wins, 12 losses and 13 draws. Victoria stands at 9 wins, 28 losses and 10 draws. The draw defied a pregame statistical projection that favored Victoria to win.
