LA CEIBA, Honduras (Interstat) — Atletico Choloma earned a decisive 5-2 victory over Victoria in a Liga Nacional match Monday at Estadio Municipal Ceibeño Nilmo Edwards.

The visitors took control early with Cristian Canales scoring in the 19th minute. Janier Bermudez added another in first-half stoppage time. Atletico Choloma then scored three times in an 11-minute span early in the second half through Marco Aceituno, Enrique Borja and Anthony Hernandez. Victoria’s Junior García netted a late consolation goal in the 80th minute.

The result defied pregame projections, which heavily favored the home side. Both clubs now hold identical 9-win records in league play this season.
