TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras (April 12, 2026) (Interstat) — Edwin Rodríguez’s early goal lifted visiting Olimpia to a 1-0 victory over rival Motagua in Liga Nacional play Sunday at Estadio Nacional Chelato Uclés. Rodríguez scored in the 14th minute, providing the only offense in a defensive contest. The win defied pregame projections, as statistical models had favored Motagua to win or draw. The match marked the season opener for both historic Honduran clubs in domestic league play.
