Habenhauser FV vs Sebaldsbrueck

AP Sports Preview

BREMEN, Germany (Interstat) — Habenhauser FV will host Sebaldsbrueck on Thursday, April 30, in an Oberliga matchup that pits two struggling sides desperate to end their recent slides.

Habenhauser FV (8-15-3) comes off a 3-1 home win over Woltmershausen on April 26, snapping a four-match losing streak. Before that victory, Habenhauser had been outscored 18-4 over its previous four games, including a 5-1 loss at Hemelingen and a 6-1 defeat at BTS Neustadt. The home side’s defense has been porous all season, conceding at least three goals in 10 of its 26 league matches.

Sebaldsbrueck (4-2-20) is in worse form, having lost 10 of its last 11 contests. The visitors were blanked 6-0 at home by OSC Bremerhaven on Sunday, their fourth defeat in a row. In that span, Sebaldsbrueck has been outscored 22-2, with a lone goal in a 2-1 loss at ESC Geestemunde on April 2. The team’s only bright spot this season came in a 3-1 win over Leher TS in November.

Thursday’s match at Habenhauser’s home pitch carries little significance at the bottom of the Oberliga table, but both clubs are seeking momentum. Habenhauser has shown signs of life offensively, scoring in six of its last eight outings. Sebaldsbrueck, meanwhile, has managed just one goal in its previous four games.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 4-4 draw, while its ELO system gives Habenhauser a 62.5 percent probability to win. The home side has been slightly better at home, with a 5-7-1 record, while Sebaldsbrueck is 1-1-11 on the road.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. local time.
