SKOPJE (Interstat) — Stefan Cvetković scored in the third minute and Vardar added a second goal later to defeat Sileks 2-1 on Saturday in a North Macedonia First League match at Nationala Arena Toše Proeski.

Edis Buturovic equalized for Sileks in the 53rd minute, but Vardar found the winning goal to take all three points.

Vardar improved to 22 wins, two losses and four draws in league play. The club’s overall record across all competitions stands at 27 wins, seven losses and seven draws. Sileks fell to 14 wins, nine losses and four draws in the First League, and 19 wins, 10 losses and five draws in all competitions.

The victory extended Vardar’s recent dominance in the series. In the two previous meetings this season, Vardar won 1-0 at Sileks on March 9, 2026, and 2-1 at home on Oct. 31, 2025.

Sileks entered the match having gone 2-2-2 in their previous six league games. That stretch included a 1-1 draw with Shkendija on May 1, a 2-0 loss at Struga on April 27, a 1-1 draw at Voska Ohrid on April 22, a 4-0 win at home against AP Brera Strumica on April 17, a 1-0 win at home against Bashkimi Kumanovo on April 11, and a 3-0 win at GFK Tikvesh Kavadarci on April 7. In their last 10 league matches before Saturday, Sileks had four wins, three draws and three losses.

Vardar came into the game on a three-match winning streak in league play. The run featured a 2-0 win at Bashkimi Kumanovo on May 2, a 7-0 win at home against GFK Tikvesh Kavadarci on April 26, and a 7-0 win at home against Shkupi on April 18. Before that, Vardar played to a 0-0 draw at Pelister on April 8 and a 1-0 win at FK Rabotnichki Skopje on April 11. In the prior 10 league matches, Vardar had seven wins, two draws and one loss.

Both sides have two remaining league fixtures this month. Vardar travels to Struga on May 17 and then hosts Shkendija on May 24. Sileks hosts KF Arsimi-1973 Chegrane on May 17 and visits FK Makedonija Gjorche Petrov on May 24.

Interstat’s game simulator projected a 1-1 final score. Interstat’s ELO system gave Vardar an 89.40 percent probability to win.
