LÁRNAKA, Cyprus (March 22, 2026) – AEK Lárnakas opened its 1. Division campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over rival APOEL on Sunday at AEK Arena (Interstat) — George Karapatakis. The match’s lone goal came from Marcus Rohdén in the 17th minute, securing three points for the hosts. APOEL, which failed to find an equalizer, began its season with a defeat. The result defied a Interstat game simulator projection of a 1-1 draw, though the firm’s ELO system had heavily favored AEK Lárnakas with a 72.9% win probability. With the win, AEK Lárnakas starts the domestic season with a perfect record, while APOEL seeks its first points.
