ESSEN, Germany (April 10, 2026) (Interstat) — Germany U19 defeated the Republic of Ireland U19 3-0 in a UEFA U19 Championship qualification match Friday at Uhlenkrugstadion. All three goals came from German substitutes.

Lotta Wrede opened the scoring in the 22nd minute and later assisted on the final goal. Lany Bäcker scored in the 62nd minute, and Jonna Maj Wrede added another in the 71st minute. Lotta Wrede also received a yellow card in the 50th minute.

The result improved Germany’s qualification record to two wins, one loss and one draw. Ireland’s record fell to one win, three losses and one draw. The outcome defied a pre-match statistical projection that heavily favored the Irish side.
