QUBA, Azerbaijan (Interstat) — Turan and İmişli FK played to a 1-1 draw in their Premyer Liqa season opener Tuesday at Quba Olimpiya İdman Kompleksi.

Turan’s Diogo Cardoso opened the scoring in the 45th minute. İmişli FK’s Mark Mampasi equalized eight minutes after halftime in the 53rd. The result defied pre-match projections from Interstat, which gave Turan a 65.2% win probability and forecast a 2-1 victory.

Both clubs begin their domestic campaigns with identical records of zero wins, zero losses and one draw. The single point from the draw also mirrors each team’s overall record across all competitions this season.
