(Interstat) — Vanspor FK opened its season with a commanding 6-1 victory over Serik on Wednesday in a Turkish 1. Lig match at İsmail Ogan Stadyumu.

The visitors dominated from the start, with substitute Iván Cédric leading the way. He scored in the ninth minute and added a second in the 73rd, also contributing an assist. Five other Vanspor FK players found the net in a comprehensive attacking display.

Serik’s lone reply came from defender Aleksandr Martynov in the 26th minute. The match grew chippy, featuring six yellow cards. Serik’s Bilal Ceylan received a yellow in first-half stoppage time and was later sent off with a red card in the 79th.

The result defied a pre-match projection of a 1-1 draw. Vanspor FK begins the campaign with a win, while Serik starts with a loss.
