STAVANGER, Norway (March 18, 2026) (Interstat) — Aalesunds FK delivered a significant upset Wednesday, defeating Viking U19 2-1 at Lyse Arena in an NM Cupen U19 match. The visitors defied pregame projections that heavily favored the hosts.

Ola Visted opened the scoring for Aalesunds FK in the 15th minute. Viking U19 equalized through Marius Andresen in the 65th minute, but Aalesunds FK secured the victory just ten minutes later when Mathias Christensen netted the decisive goal. The result marked Aalesunds FK’s first win in the competition this season, while Viking U19 suffered its first loss. Pregame statistical models had given Viking U19 a dominant probability to win and projected a different outcome.
