Copenhagen Rallies Late to Upset Randers in Season Opener
COPENHAGEN, Denmark (Interstat) — FC Copenhagen scored twice in the final 25 minutes to stun Randers 2-1 in the Danish Superliga on Sunday, defying heavy statistical odds.
Interstat’s pregame projections gave Randers a 94.4% probability to win at Cepheus Park Randers. The home side led after Daniel Høegh’s 66th-minute goal. But substitute Viktor Claesson equalized in the 83rd minute before fellow substitute William Clem netted the dramatic winner in the first minute of stoppage time. Clem also assisted on Claesson’s goal.
Five yellow cards were issued in a physical second half. Copenhagen begins its league campaign 1-0, while Randers starts 0-1.
