SILKEBORG, Denmark (Interstat) — Silkeborg opened its Danish Superliga season with a 3-1 victory over Odense BK at JYSK Park on Sunday.

Substitute Marcus McCoy opened the scoring in the 27th minute. The match turned decisively in a four-minute span late in the second half. Silkeborg defender Pedro Ganchas doubled the lead in the 67th, only for Odense forward Oliver Ross to answer in the 71st. Silkeborg substitute Tonni Adamsen sealed the win with a goal in the 89th minute.

The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat that forecast a 2-2 draw, though its system heavily favored Silkeborg to win. Odense begins its campaign 0-1, while Silkeborg starts 1-0.
