COPENHAGEN, Denmark (Interstat) — Fredericia secured a surprising 2-1 away victory over FC København in Danish Superliga play Sunday at Parken Stadium.

The visitors took the lead in the 23rd minute through substitute Sofus Johannesen. Friday Etim, another substitute, doubled the advantage in the 38th minute. Youssoufa Moukoko pulled one back for the hosts late, but it was not enough.

Fredericia’s Svenn Crone received a yellow card in the 36th minute and was sent off with a second yellow in stoppage time. The result improves Fredericia to a 5-13-2 league record, while FC København falls to 8-8-5. The win defied a pregame statistical projection that heavily favored Fredericia.
