Randers vs Silkeborg

SILKEBORG, Denmark (Interstat) — Silkeborg delivered a commanding away performance, defeating Randers 3-0 in Danish Superliga play Sunday at Cepheus Park Randers.

The result, a comprehensive reversal of both teams’ previous meeting and pregame projections, saw Silkeborg dominate from the outset. The visitors’ victory was fueled by a quick first-half brace that effectively decided the contest before the interval.

Silkeborg opened the scoring in the 28th minute. Defender Sabil Hansen, who would later receive a yellow card, provided the assist on the opening goal finished by Tonni Adamsen. The lead doubled just five minutes later in the 33rd minute when midfielder Laurits Pedersen set up Callum McCowatt for Silkeborg’s second. Pedersen was also booked in the first half.

Any hope of a Randers comeback was extinguished in the 74th minute as Andreas Poulsen netted Silkeborg’s third to seal the three points. The home side failed to generate a consistent threat, unable to answer any of Silkeborg’s finishes.

The outcome defied statistical expectations. Pre-match analysis from Interstat had projected a draw with a final score of 1-1, while its ELO rating system gave Randers an 82 percent probability to win.

The victory improves Silkeborg’s Superliga record to six wins, nine losses and five draws this season. Across all competitions, they now stand at 10 wins, 11 losses and seven draws. For Randers, the loss marks their 10th of the league campaign against six wins and four draws. Their overall record moves to 11 wins, 11 losses and four draws.

The match continued a recent trend of tight contests between the two sides, despite the lopsided scoreline. Their previous meeting on Nov. 30, 2025, ended in a 0-0 draw, and Randers had won the prior encounter 1-0 last August.

Silkeborg will look to build on the momentum from this performance when they travel to face FC Kobenhavn on April 5 in their next Superliga fixture. Randers, seeking to rebound, will visit Vejle BK W on April 6. The two teams are scheduled to meet again in the return league fixture at Silkeborg on April 26.
