Carrarese vs Pescara

CARRARA, Italy (Interstat) — Substitute Gennaro Acampora provided a goal and an assist in a second-half comeback as Pescara rallied for a 2-2 draw against Carrarese in a Serie B match Sunday at Stadio dei Marmi.

The result extended Pescara’s unbeaten streak to three matches in Italy’s second division, though it felt like two points dropped for a Carrarese side that had controlled the first hour. The draw left both teams in the lower half of the table with five matches remaining in the season, their playoff hopes growing increasingly faint.

Carrarese, the home side, started brightly and was rewarded in the 19th minute. Forward Filippo Distefano opened the scoring, finishing a move to give his team an early lead. The advantage was doubled just 16 minutes later when defender Gaetano Letizia found the net, putting the hosts in a commanding position.

Pescara’s challenge grew more difficult when Acampora, who had entered the match as a substitute, received a yellow card in the 22nd minute. Carrarese’s Fabio Ruggeri was also booked in the 45th minute for a foul.

The visitors emerged from the break with renewed purpose. Their persistence was rewarded in the 61st minute when Acampora, making a significant impact off the bench, scored to cut the deficit in half. The momentum had decisively shifted.

Acampora turned provider in the 84th minute, setting up defender Devid Bouah for the equalizing goal. The late strike secured a share of the points for Pescara, completing a hard-fought comeback on the road.

The match defied pregame projections. Interstat’s game simulator had predicted a 1-1 draw, while its ELO rating system gave Carrarese a 66.10 percent probability of victory. Instead, the teams played to the same scoreline as their previous meeting this season, a 2-2 draw in Pescara on Oct. 18, 2025.

With the result, Pescara’s Serie B record moved to 5 wins, 11 losses and 10 draws. Their record across all competitions this season is 7 wins, 12 losses and 10 draws. Carrarese’s league mark is now 9 wins, 10 losses and 10 draws, with an overall record of 9 wins, 12 losses and 10 draws.

Pescara will look to continue its improved form when it hosts Juve Stabia next Saturday. Carrarese travels to face Frosinone the same day, seeking to rebound from a result that saw a two-goal lead slip away at home.
