Reggiana vs Pescara
REGIO EMILIA, Italy (Interstat) — Visiting Pescara delivered a decisive 3-1 victory over Reggiana in a Serie B match on Monday, defying pregame projections and securing a valuable three points on the road at the Mapei Stadium - Città del Tricolore.
The result, fueled by goals from three different scorers, provided a boost to Pescara’s campaign while extending a frustrating run for the home side. Pregame statistical analysis heavily favored Reggiana, with Interstat’s ELO system giving the hosts a 63.3 percent probability to win and its simulator predicting a 1-1 draw. Pescara’s performance rendered those forecasts obsolete.
The visitors established control early. Midfielder Giacomo Olzer opened the scoring in the 21st minute, giving Pescara a lead they would not relinquish. Veteran forward Lorenzo Insigne doubled the advantage just before halftime, finding the net in the 50th minute to make it 2-0.
Reggiana showed signs of life after the break. Substitute Lorenzo Berardi, who entered the match in the second half, provided a key contribution by assisting on a goal from forward Mathis Lambourde in the 68th minute. The strike cut the deficit to 2-1 and briefly reignited the home supporters.
The momentum was short-lived. Insigne received a yellow card in the 63rd minute and Berardi was also booked in the 68th minute following the goal celebration. Pescara quickly reasserted its dominance, sealing the match in the 89th minute when Lorenzo Meazzi netted the team’s third goal, restoring the two-goal cushion and extinguishing any hope of a Reggiana comeback.
The match concluded with a flurry of disciplinary action deep into stoppage time. Reggiana’s Andreaw Gravillon was shown a yellow card in the 91st minute. The contest ended on a sour note for the hosts when defender Alessandro Tripaldelli was issued a straight red card in the sixth minute of added time.
The victory improves Pescara’s Serie B record to five wins, nine draws and 10 losses this season. Their overall record across all competitions moves to seven wins, nine draws and 11 losses. For Reggiana, the loss marks another setback, leaving them with a league record of seven wins, nine draws and 12 losses. Their overall tally now stands at seven wins, nine draws and 13 losses.
The match was a reversal of fortune from the teams’ last meeting on Dec. 20, 2025, when Pescara also won, 2-1, but on that occasion as the home side.
Pescara will look to build on this performance when they host Sampdoria in their next Serie B fixture on Saturday. Reggiana, seeking to halt their slide, will prepare to face Carrarese at home on Sunday.
