RABAT, Morocco (Interstat) — AS FAR and Pyramids FC played to a 1-1 draw in a CAF Champions League match Friday at Stade Olympique de Rabat.

Ahmed Hamoudan opened the scoring for the home side in the eighth minute, finishing a play assisted by defender Yunis Abdelhamid. Pyramids FC’s equalizer came in the 52nd minute from substitute Mahmoud Zalaka, set up by fellow substitute Ahmed Atef.

The match was physical, featuring four yellow cards. The result extended Pyramids FC’s unbeaten run in the competition to nine matches. Both teams remain near the top of their group. The draw defied a pregame statistical projection that favored AS FAR.
