Late Goal Seals Toulouse Victory in Ligue 1 Shootout

LONGVILLE-LÈS-METZ, France (Interstat) — Substitute Yann Gboho scored twice to lead Toulouse to a 4-3 victory over FC Metz in a frenetic Ligue 1 match Sunday at Stade Saint-Symphorien.

Toulouse struck first in the sixth minute through Aron Dønnum, another substitute, before Gboho doubled the lead. Nathan Mbala pulled one back for Metz in the 30th, only for Toulouse defender Koffi Franck Kouao to answer a minute later. Gboho’s second goal just before halftime made it 4-1.

Metz mounted a second-half comeback with goals from Giorgi Abuashvili and a late penalty, but fell short. The result defied a pregame projection that favored Toulouse but predicted a lower score. Alexis Vossah and Waren Kamanzi received yellow cards for Toulouse.
