Le Havre vs Lyon
LYON SEEKS ROAD RESULT AGAINST LE HAVRE IN LIGUE 1 CLASH
LE HAVRE, France (Interstat) — A struggling Lyon side will look to stabilize its form on the road Sunday when it visits Le Havre in a French Ligue 1 match at Stade Océane.
The match kicks off at 3 p.m. local (1400 GMT) on March 15.
Lyon (10-8-9) enters the contest winless in its last three league matches, having dropped points from winning positions in recent weeks. Most recently, Lyon settled for a 1-1 home draw with Paris FC on March 8. This followed a damaging 3-2 loss at Marseille on March 1 and a 3-1 defeat at Strasbourg on Feb. 22. The club’s away form has been particularly inconsistent, with just one win in its last five league travels.
Le Havre (7-9-11), newly promoted this season, aims to rebound from a 2-0 loss at Brest on March 8. Prior to that, the Normandy club put up a resilient defensive display in a narrow 1-0 home loss to Paris Saint-Germain on Feb. 28. Le Havre has shown an ability to scrape results at home, with a win over Toulouse and draws against Monaco and Rennes at Stade Océane since the winter break.
The historical top-flight rivalry is limited, with this being their first meeting since the 2008-09 season. Lyon traditionally holds the upper hand.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected final score is Lyon 2, Le Havre 1.
Lyon’s demanding schedule continues next Sunday with a home match against AS Monaco. Le Havre travels to face Paris FC next Sunday in its following fixture.
