Mbarara City vs Maroons
MBARARA CITY, Uganda (Interstat) — Mbarara City and Maroons will meet for the second time this Uganda Super League season on Tuesday, with both sides seeking a crucial victory to improve their standing.
The match at Kakyeka Stadium comes after the teams played to a 1-1 draw in their previous encounter on Jan. 31. Interstat’s game simulator projects another 1-1 draw for this fixture.
Maroons (4-7-5) arrives following a 1-0 road loss to NEC FC on Saturday, which snapped a modest two-game unbeaten run. Their form has been inconsistent, with just one win in their last five league matches. That victory was a 1-0 result against BUL FC on April 8. Defense has been a relative strength, as the club has recorded five clean sheets in its last 10 outings.
Mbarara City (2-6-8) is in a more precarious position, having lost its last two matches. It fell 2-1 to Uganda Police FC on Thursday and 3-1 to UPDF FC on April 9. The club has struggled to find results, winning only once in its last 10 league games—a 1-0 victory over Calvary on Feb. 12. Its defense has been vulnerable, conceding multiple goals in six of those contests.
The head-to-head history suggests a tight affair. Beyond this season’s draw, recent meetings have often been low-scoring.
For Maroons, finding offensive consistency will be key after being shut out in its last match. Mbarara City, meanwhile, must shore up its back line to avoid a third consecutive defeat.
The match kicks off at 4 p.m. local time.
