UPDF FC vs Express Sports

UPDF FC, Express Sports Seek Momentum in Ugandan Super League Clash

KAMPALA, Uganda (Interstat) — A mid-table Super League clash with playoff implications is set for Wednesday as UPDF FC hosts Express Sports at the Bombo Military Barracks Grounds.

Both sides enter the April 15 contest looking to build on recent victories. The home Army side, UPDF FC, is coming off a 3-1 home win over Mbarara City on April 9. Express Sports, known as the Red Eagles, earned a confident 3-1 victory over Uganda Police FC on April 8.

The recent head-to-head record favors the visitors. In their last meeting on Sept. 26, 2025, Express Sports secured a 1-0 home win.

Current form, however, presents a mixed picture. Express Sports’ win over Police snapped a streak of inconsistent results. Their previous five matches included two draws, two losses and a win. Notably, they were held scoreless in four of their last six games prior to the Police match.

UPDF FC’s season has been defined by struggles at home. Their win over Mbarara City was a rare bright spot at their barracks ground, where they had failed to score in their four prior home fixtures, losing three of them.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the match is projected to end in a 1-1 draw.

The matchup carries weight for the Super League standings as the season progresses. Following this game, UPDF FC will face a quick turnaround with an away match at BUL FC on April 21. Express Sports will begin a two-game home stand, hosting NEC FC on April 21 and BUL FC on April 24.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. local time at the Bombo Military Barracks Grounds.
