VERONA, Italy (Interstat) — Genoa opened its Serie A season with a 2-0 victory over Verona on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

After a scoreless first half, substitute Vitinha broke the deadlock in the 61st minute. He later assisted fellow substitute Leo Østigård’s clinching goal in the 86th minute. Both Genoa scorers came off the bench.

Verona, which saw Daniel Oyegoke booked early, failed to score at home. The result defied a pregame projection of a draw by Interstat, which gave Genoa a 58.5% win probability. Genoa begins its campaign 1-0, while Verona starts 0-1.
