Barcelona Dominates Real Madrid in Women’s Champions League Rout
BARCELONA, Spain (Interstat) — FC Barcelona delivered a commanding performance Thursday, overwhelming rival Real Madrid CF Femenino 6-0 in a UEFA Women’s Champions League match at Spotify Camp Nou.
The home side established control early, with Alexia Putellas opening the scoring in the eighth minute. Caroline Graham Hansen then scored twice, in the 15th and 55th minutes, to lead the attack. Irene Paredes, Ewa Pajor and Esmee Brugts added a goal each in a comprehensive display.
The result extended Barcelona’s strong form in the competition. Real Madrid, which received yellow cards to Sandie Toletti, Yasmim, Athenea del Castillo and Naomie Feller, was shut out and never threatened. The victory follows Barcelona’s 6-2 win in the reverse fixture just eight days prior.
