FC Annecy Routs Nancy 5‑1 in Ligue 2 Opener Behind Substitute Scoring Barrage

TOMBLAINE, France (Interstat) — FC Annecy delivered a stunning opening-day upset Friday, routing Nancy 5-1 in a Ligue 2 match at Stade Marcel Picot.

The visitors demolished pregame projections, as Interstat’s simulator had forecast a 1-1 draw and gave Nancy a 65.5% chance to win. Instead, substitutes fueled a blowout. Moïse Sahi Dion and Clément Billemaz each scored twice, with goals in the 21st, 27th, 53rd and 59th minutes. Defender Martin Expérience added a fifth in the 76th before Antoine Larose netted Nancy’s lone consolation in the 88th.

Axel Drouhin received a yellow card for Annecy in the 39th minute. The result gives Annecy a winning start in league play, while Nancy begins its campaign with a defeat.
