PAU, France (Interstat) — Pau opened its Ligue 2 season with a 2-1 comeback victory over Guingamp on Friday at Stade Nouste Camp.

The visitors led after Louis Mafouta’s 35th-minute goal. Pau forward Kyliane Dong equalized in the 54th minute, then secured the win with a dramatic goal in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time. Dong also contributed an assist.

The result defied the pregame projection from Interstat, which simulated a 1-1 draw. Pau began its campaign with a win, while Guingamp started with a loss.

The match featured six yellow cards, including one for Dong following his late winner.
