LE MANS, France (April 17, 2026) (Interstat) — Le Mans FC opened its season with a narrow 1-0 victory over Clermont in a French Ligue 2 match Friday at Stade Marie Marvingt.

The game’s lone goal came in the 57th minute. Substitute El Hadj Koné, who entered after an early yellow card, assisted defender Noa Boisse, who then found forward Dame Guèye for the finish. The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat that had forecast a 1-1 draw, though its system favored Le Mans with a 60.6% win probability.

The win gives Le Mans a perfect start in league play at 1-0-0, while Clermont begins its campaign 0-1-0. Both clubs see their overall season records mirror those league marks.
