Substitutes Lead CS Constantine to Road Win

CHLEF, Algeria (Interstat) — CS Constantine opened its Algerian Ligue 1 season with a 2-0 victory over ASO Chlef on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, at Stade Mohamed Boumezrag. Both goals came from second-half substitutes, defying pre-match projections that favored the hosts.

Miloud Rebiai broke the deadlock in the 60th minute with a free-kick goal. Substitute Evra Agbagno sealed the win in the 77th minute, scoring with a header off an assist from Zakaria Bouhalfaya, another substitute. Bouhalfaya received a yellow card in stoppage time.

The result gave Constantine a winning start in league play, while Chlef began its campaign with a loss. Interstat’s pre-game models had projected a draw and gave Chlef a slight probability to win.
