CROTONE, Italy (Interstat) — Crotone earned a 2-0 victory over Catania in a Serie C match Monday at Stadio Ezio Scida, reversing a result from earlier in the season.

Andrea Gallo opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, and Antonino Musso added a second goal in the 59th minute to secure the win for the home side. The shutout halted a strong run for Catania, which had entered the match with just one loss in its previous nine league contests.

The result avenges Crotone’s 2-0 loss at Catania on Dec. 5. The outcome defied a pregame projection from Interstat, which gave Catania a 54.6% probability to win and forecast a 1-1 draw.
