PICERNO, Italy (Interstat) — Picerno opened its Serie C campaign with a 1-0 victory over Monopoli on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Stadio Comunale Donato Curcio.

The match’s lone goal came in the 14th minute from Samuel Pugliese, securing three points for the home side. The result defied a pregame projection from Interstat, whose simulator had forecast a 1-1 draw and whose ELO system gave visiting Monopoli a slight 50.90 percent probability to win.

Both clubs now hold 0-0 records to start the Serie C season. The loss leaves Monopoli still seeking its first victory across all competitions this season, while Picerno starts with a clean sheet and a win.
