Rodez vs Troyes
RODEZ, France (Interstat) — Substitute Martin Adeline delivered a decisive goal and an assist just three minutes after entering the match, propelling Rodez to a 2-1 comeback victory over Troyes in a Ligue 2 contest Monday at Stade Paul Lignon.
The match, rescheduled from the previous day, began at a furious pace. Adeline, introduced in the opening moments, made an immediate impact by firing Rodez into the lead in the third minute. His early contribution was quickly tempered by a yellow card in the 10th minute for a reckless challenge.
Troyes, undeterred by the early deficit, settled into the game and found an equalizer before halftime. Forward Mathis Saka leveled the score in the 54th minute, capitalizing on a buildup that involved midfielder Evans Jean-Lambert, who was later booked in the 41st minute.
The second half saw the home side regain control. Adeline turned provider in the 72nd minute, setting up forward Taïryk Arconte for the winning goal. The assist completed a standout performance for Adeline, who was instrumental in both Rodez scores.
The match grew increasingly fractious as Troyes pressed for a second equalizer. Renaud Ripart of Troyes received a yellow card in the 82nd minute. The tension peaked in the 89th minute when Troyes substitute Mounaïm El Idrissy was shown a yellow card and then a subsequent red card in the same incident, forcing his team to finish the match with 10 men. Rodez midfielder Clément Jolibois was also booked in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time.
The result improved Rodez’s record in Ligue 2 play to 13 wins, 6 losses and 11 draws this season. Across all competitions, they now stand at 13 wins, 6 losses and 15 draws. Troyes, which had been in strong form, saw its league record shift to 14 wins, 6 losses and 6 draws. Their overall mark across all tournaments is now 21 wins, 9 losses and 10 draws.
The victory allowed Rodez to exact a measure of revenge for a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at Troyes on Dec. 6. The outcome also defied the pre-match projection from Interstat’s game simulator, which had forecast a 1-1 draw. The same service’s ELO rating system had given Rodez a 77.7 percent probability to win.
Rodez will look to build on the momentum when it hosts Amiens AC U19 on Friday. Troyes, meanwhile, aims to rebound at home against Boulogne on Saturday. Both matches are part of the ongoing Ligue 2 schedule.
