PESCARA, Italy (Interstat) — Pescara opened its Serie B campaign with a commanding 3-0 victory over Virtus Entella on Wednesday at Stadio Adriatico-Giovanni Cornacchia.

The home side controlled the match from the start. Defender Andrea Cagnano opened the scoring in the 20th minute. Midfielder Fabrizio Caligara doubled the lead just before halftime in the 43rd, and star midfielder Lorenzo Insigne sealed the win with a 56th-minute goal. Defender Gaetano Letizia provided assists on all three scores.

The result defied a pregame projection that forecast a 1-1 draw. Pescara begins the season with a win, while Virtus Entella starts with a loss.
