CLB Cong An Thanh Phố Hồ Chi Minh vs CLB Thể Cong - Viettel

HO CHI MINH CITY (Interstat) — CLB Cong An Thanh Pho Ho Chi Minh will host CLB The Cong - Viettel on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in a V.League 1 matchup that pits a struggling home side against a visiting team riding a strong unbeaten run.

The game, scheduled at a venue to be announced, features two clubs heading in opposite directions this season. Viettel enters the contest undefeated in its last six league matches, posting five wins and a draw since a 4-1 loss at Song Lam Nghe An on Feb. 8. That run includes consecutive 2-0 victories over CLB Thep Xanh Nam Dinh and Hong Linh Tinh in May.

Cong An, meanwhile, has shown inconsistency. The home side played to a 2-2 draw with SHB Da Nang on May 15, which followed a 3-1 win over Song Lam Nghe An. But Cong An also lost 2-0 at CLB Thep Xanh Nam Dinh on May 1 and has suffered heavy defeats this season, including a 4-0 loss at Thanh Hoa on April 5 and a 3-0 home defeat to CLB Cong An Ha Noi on April 19.

Head-to-head history tilts heavily in Viettel’s favor. The visiting side won the most recent meeting between the clubs, a 3-0 victory on Aug. 22, 2025.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-0 victory for Viettel.

Viettel’s recent form is built on strong defense. The team has posted six clean sheets in its last 10 league games, with only one match during that stretch — a 3-3 draw at SHB Da Nang on April 26 — seeing more than two goals conceded.

Cong An has struggled to find consistent scoring, managing two or more goals in just three of its last 10 matches. The team’s best offensive output during that span was a 3-1 win over Song Lam Nghe An.

The match also carries historical subtext. Viettel was formerly known as Cong An Nhan Dan before rebranding, and the two clubs share organizational roots in Vietnam’s public security system.

Looking ahead, both teams face road games next week. Viettel hosts CLB Cong An Ha Noi on Sunday, June 7. Cong An travels to face Ha Noi on the same date.
