PESARO, Italy (Interstat) — Vis Pesaro 1898 and FC Forli played to a 1-1 draw in their Serie C season opener Sunday at Stadio Tonino Benelli.

The result defied pre-match projections that heavily favored the home side. Forli’s Davide Macrì broke a scoreless deadlock in the 70th minute. Vis Pesaro responded just five minutes later, with Mirco Ceccacci equalizing in the 75th minute to secure the draw. Interstat’s game simulator had projected a 2-0 win for Vis Pesaro, which entered with a 75% probability to win according to its ELO ratings.

Both clubs begin their campaigns with identical records: no wins, no losses and one draw in all competitions.
