Fath Union Rabat vs Kawkab Marrakech

RABAT, Morocco (Interstat) — A dramatic stoppage-time exchange saw Fath Union Rabat and Kawkab Marrakech split the points in a 1-1 draw Sunday in Botola Pro play at Stade Prince Héritier Moulay Hassan.

The match, which appeared destined for a scoreless deadlock, erupted in the final moments with both goals coming after the 90-minute mark. The result did little to alter the mid-table struggles of either side in the Moroccan top flight.

Kawkab Marrakech, the visiting team, struck first against the run of play in the 90th minute. Substitute Younes El Bahraoui found the net to stun the home supporters and put his side on the verge of a valuable road victory.

However, Fath Union Rabat responded immediately in the seventh minute of added time. Midfielder Salah Eddine Benyachou delivered the equalizer, salvaging a point for the hosts and ensuring the match ended level.

The frantic finish belied a match that statistical projections heavily favored the home side. Interstat’s ELO system gave Fath Union Rabat a 79.50 percent probability to win, though the organization’s game simulator had accurately predicted the 1-1 final score.

With the draw, both clubs continued to seek consistency in their league campaigns. Fath Union Rabat’s season record in the competition now stands at 2 wins, 5 losses and 4 draws. Kawkab Marrakech’s record is nearly identical at 2 wins, 5 losses and 3 draws. Their records across all competitions this season mirror those league totals.

The outcome extends Fath Union Rabat’s winless streak to three matches, following a draw with Olympique Dcheira and a loss to Maghreb Fes earlier this month. Kawkab Marrakech, meanwhile, remains without a victory in its last two outings after a scoreless draw with Ittihad Tanger on Feb. 1.

Kawkab Marrakech will look to build on the road point when it returns home to host Difaa El Jadidi on Saturday. Fath Union Rabat travels to face RSB Berkane in its next league fixture on Sunday.

The Botola Pro is Morocco’s premier football division.
