Casa Pia Edges Arouca in Five-Goal Primeira Liga Thriller
RIO MAIOR, Portugal (Interstat) — Casa Pia opened its Primeira Liga season with a 3-2 victory over Arouca on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, in a match that defied a conservative pregame projection.
The hosts rallied at Estádio Municipal de Rio Maior after conceding an early goal to Arouca substitute Barbero in the 11th minute. Casa Pia responded with three goals in a 16-minute span. Defender Rafael Brito equalized in the 21st, followed by a goal from forward Cassiano in the 25th and another from defender Abdu Conté in the 37th.
Cassiano, who also added an assist, was the standout performer. Arouca’s second goal came from Cassiano as well, making it 3-2 before halftime. The second half saw no scoring but featured six yellow cards. The result gave Casa Pia a winning start while Arouca began its campaign with a loss. Interstat’s pregame simulator had projected a 1-1 draw.
