KOLOSSI, Cyprus (Interstat) — Jaromír Zmrhal’s 36th-minute goal stood as the winner Saturday as Apollon defeated Ethnikos Achna 1-0 in a Cypriot First Division match at Alphamega Stadium.

The result extended Apollon’s strong league form, improving its record to 14 wins. Ethnikos Achna, which entered on a two-game winning streak, was held scoreless and fell to 5 wins on the campaign. The visitors struggled to generate offense against a disciplined Apollon defense.

The narrow victory followed the same scoreline from the teams’ previous meeting in November. Apollon controlled proceedings for much of the match after the decisive first-half strike.
