Late Goal Forces Draw in Ligue 1 Season Opener
NICE, France (Interstat) — Nice and Lorient opened their Ligue 1 campaigns with a frantic 3-3 draw Sunday at Allianz Riviera. Lorient midfielder Tom Louchet scored twice in the first half, including a goal in first-half stoppage time. Nice substitute Pablo Pagis answered just three minutes later. After Kaïl Boudache gave Lorient a 3-1 lead, Nice mounted a comeback with a goal from Noah Cadiou in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time to salvage the draw. The result defied pregame projections that heavily favored Nice. Five yellow cards were issued in a chippy finale. Both clubs begin the season with a draw in all competitions.
