Azam FC Edges Nairobi Utd in CAF Confederation Cup Match
ZANZIBAR CITY, Tanzania (Interstat) — Feisal Salum’s early goal Sunday propelled Azam FC to a 1-0 victory over Nairobi United in a CAF Confederation Cup group stage match at Amaan Stadium.
Salum, a midfielder, scored in the 12th minute. Substitute Muhadjiri Hakizimana provided the assist. Both Hakizimana and Nairobi United substitute Benson Omala received yellow cards in the first half.
The result aligns with a pregame projection from Interstat, which gave the home side a slight edge to win. Azam FC now holds four wins in the continental competition this season, while Nairobi United’s struggles continued with just one win in six matches.
The Tanzanian side completed a sweep of the two-legged fixture, having also won 2-1 in Nairobi the previous Sunday.
