BECHAR, Algeria (Feb. 4, 2026) (Interstat) — Saoura opened its Ligue 1 campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over ES Setif on Wednesday at Stade du 20 Août 1955.

The match’s lone goal came from defender Abdelkader Boutiche, who also provided the assist on his own decisive play. Boutiche later received a yellow card in the 77th minute.

The result defied the pre-match projection from Interstat, whose game simulator had forecast a 1-1 draw. Its ELO rating system, however, gave Saoura a 69.1% probability to win.

With the win, Saoura begins the season at 1-0-0, while ES Setif starts 0-1-0. Both clubs see their overall records mirror their league starts.
