The home side controlled the match, with Dilan Markanday opening the scoring in the 39th minute. Lee Bonis doubled the advantage in the 72nd, and Will Grigg sealed the win late. Chesterfield’s defense held firm for a clean sheet against a Colchester attack that failed to score.
