CS Constantine vs ES Mostaganem

ALGIERS, Algeria (Interstat) — A pair of Algerian clubs seeking momentum will meet Friday when CS Constantine hosts ES Mostaganem in a Ligue 1 fixture.

The match at Stade Mohamed Hamlaoui is projected to be a tight affair, with Interstat’s game simulator forecasting a 1-1 draw.

Constantine (6-7-5, 25 points) enters the contest after a 1-1 home draw with MC El Bayadh on Jan. 24. The club has been inconsistent at home this season, posting a 3-3-3 record. Its last victory was a 1-0 road win at Saoura on Jan. 9.

Mostaganem (2-8-8, 14 points) snapped a lengthy winless streak with a 1-0 home victory over Oued Akbou on Jan. 23. That result ended a brutal stretch of nine consecutive league matches without a win, a run in which the team was outscored 14-1 and failed to score in eight of those games.

The visitors will draw confidence from the most recent head-to-head meeting, a 2-0 home win over Constantine on Aug. 30, 2025. Constantine, however, holds the historical edge in the rivalry.

Constantine’s attack has been subdued, failing to score in four of its last six league matches. Mostaganem’s struggles are more profound, having been shut out in 12 of its 18 league games this season, the worst offensive output in the division.

With the table tightly packed in the middle, Constantine aims to climb into the top half. Mostaganem remains mired at the bottom, and its victory last week provided a rare bright spot in a campaign focused on top-flight survival.

Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. local time (1900 GMT) in Constantine.
