CLERMONT-FERRAND, France (March 20, 2026) (Interstat) — Substitute Hacéne Benali scored a second-half goal to deliver Red Star a 1-0 road victory over Clermont in a Ligue 2 match Friday at Stade Gabriel Montpied.

The match defied pre-game projections, as Interstat’s game simulator had forecast a 1-1 draw and gave Clermont a 65.5% probability to win. The decisive play was built by Red Star’s bench, with fellow substitute Dylan Durivaux providing the assist for Benali’s winner.

The physical contest featured four yellow cards, issued to Red Star’s Balthazar Pierret, Bradley Danger, Saïdou Sow and Durivaux. The result gives Red Star a winning start to its league campaign, while Clermont begins its season with a defeat.
