RODEZ, France (March 20, 2026) (Interstat) — Substitute Joachim Eickmayer’s first-half goal secured Bastia a 1-1 road draw against Rodez in a Ligue 2 season opener Friday at Stade Paul Lignon.

Eickmayer broke the deadlock in the 40th minute, finishing an assist from Evans Jean-Lambert. Rodez responded after halftime, with Taïryk Arconte equalizing in the 50th minute off a pass from substitute Anthony Roncaglia. The result defied pre-game projections that heavily favored the hosts.

Both sides finished with 10 men after late yellow cards to Rodez’s Amine Boutrah and Bastia’s Roncaglia and Jean-Lambert. The single point leaves each club with an identical record of one draw in all competitions this season.
