ESTORIL, Portugal (Interstat) — Substitute Maranhão scored twice in the first 16 minutes to propel visiting Tondela, but Estoril responded with two quick goals to force a 2-2 draw in a Primeira Liga match Saturday.

Tondela stunned the home crowd at Estádio António Coimbra da Mota with Maranhão’s early brace. Estoril answered within three minutes, however, as midfielder João Carvalho scored in the 26th and defender Ferro added another in the 29th. The frantic first-half scoring gave way to a stalemate, with Estoril defender Antef Tsoungui receiving a late yellow card.

The result left both clubs in the league’s bottom half. The teams played to an identical score in their previous meeting last August.
