BÉJA, Tunisia (Jan. 28, 2026) (Interstat) — Olympique Beja opened its Tunisian Ligue 1 campaign with a 1-0 upset victory over favored Monastir on Wednesday at Stade Boujemâa Lekmiti. Baha Cherni scored just one minute into the match, providing the decisive goal. The stunning early strike held up as Monastir, projected by statistical models to have a 91.5% win probability, failed to find an equalizer. The result defied a pre-game simulation that predicted a 1-1 draw. With the win, Olympique Beja begins the season 1-0-0, while Monastir starts 0-1-0.
