BALLYMENA, Northern Ireland (Feb. 24, 2026) (Interstat) — Ballymena United and Glenavon opened their Premiership campaigns with a 2-2 draw Tuesday in a match featuring three goals in a frantic five-minute span at The Showgrounds.

Glenavon’s Kian Corbally opened the scoring in the 44th minute, but Paul McGovern equalized for the hosts in first-half stoppage time. Nathaniel Ferris put Glenavon ahead again in the 58th, only for Sean Murray to level for Ballymena United five minutes later.

The result defied a pre-match projection from Interstat, which gave Ballymena United a 63 percent probability to win. Both clubs now hold identical records across all competitions this season.
