ALBACETE, Spain (Interstat) — FC Barcelona advanced in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday with a 2-1 road victory over Albacete Balompié at Estadio Carlos Belmonte. The result defied a pregame statistical model that heavily favored the home side.

Substitute Lamine Yamal opened the scoring for Barcelona in the 39th minute. Fellow substitute Ronald Araújo doubled the lead in the 56th. Albacete defender Javier Moreno netted a late consolation goal in the 87th minute.

Barcelona’s João Cancelo and Albacete’s Daniel Bernabéu each received first-half yellow cards. Barcelona, the visiting side, improved to 1-0 in the tournament. Albacete fell to 0-1.
