CAIRO (Interstat) — ZED and El Mokawloon El Arab SC played to a 0-0 draw in an Egyptian League Cup match Thursday at Cairo International Stadium.

The result defied pregame projections from Interstat, which gave ZED a 74.9% probability to win and simulated a 1-0 victory for the home side. Neither team could break through in the defensive stalemate.

Key defensive plays included contributions from El Mokawloon El Arab’s Abdallah Bakry and ZED’s Mohamed Hamed and Mostafa Saad Messi. The match featured three yellow cards, issued to Hamed in the 47th minute, Bakry in the 59th and Messi in the 63rd.

Both clubs moved to 0-0-1 records in the League Cup and across all competitions this season.
